Day #1: Thursday

After unpacking some of our things and resting a little bit, we went to eat at the hotel restaurant with Noall for dinner. We walked around the outside of the hotel to hear the coqui frogs "singing" everywhere (Zach was TRYING to smile even though he has canker sores all over the inside of his mouth). The kids were great to speak Spanish with most everyone and even Alex was getting excited to learn a few new words. We're going to try and speak Spanish (even to each other) whenever we're outside our hotel room. It's an interesting challenge for me, too, because there are so many words I haven't used in a long time!

Camilla was LOVING the Christmas decorations - it's fun to see the palm trees and tropical flowers side by side w/the Christmas tree and poinsettias (I don't really consider a poinsettia a tropical flower even though I know it is).

Wow! What a fun opportunity! The kids Spanish will improve dramatically in just the short time you are there--kids pick up languages so much faster than we do. Your idea to only speak Spanish outside the hotel is a good one, complete immersion is the best way to get them to reach a bit.
