As much as I love watching my "big kids" discover their talents, and learn new things they are excited about at school, and become more independent, and share all the details of what they did at recess, and everything going on in their friend's lives...I also love my time in the mornings with my "little kids" when we can do "little kid" things. I guess that's why it's nice when they come one at a time, a few years apart, so you can enjoy all the stages at once!
Emma loves thinking she's Alex's teacher and insists on being in charge of everything. I am actually pretty sure she's convinced that she can read already.

Swimsuits and "sunbathing"
Emma's favorite piece of clothing is her swimsuit and begs to wear it every day (I've been hiding it lately). After playing in her little pool, she decided to come inside and "sunbathe" in different spots all around the house. Whenever I took a picture, she said, "Thank you, Mommy!". It was pretty funny. Please note the "jam mustache" from drinking the strawberry jam I just made. She loves the independence of being able to get her own food out of the fridge...she usually doesn't get into too much trouble except that she has learned how to peel a hard-boiled egg by herself...unfortunately she doesn't always grab an egg that is hard-boiled. We've been cleaning up lots of raw eggs from off the floor this week...

Dreaming in Blue & Orange

Does it mean anything that after 9 years of being married to a Boise State football fan, I've started DREAMING about BSU football?!?!?

Four Year Old Soccer
Since Alex didn't start kindergarten this year (late birthday), we decided to sign him up for soccer so that he would have something to look forward to every week. And boy does he look forward to it! Not all the boys do...some are crying and some are standing around looking slightly confused. But this third child of ours, has been practicing with Zach for a couple of years now, and he was more than ready to prove himself. He takes soccer pretty seriously - when it's time for a water break, he runs to me, gets a quick drink and runs back to the coach to see what he can "help" with. He was literally the only child there for 5 min. while the other boys took a break. It's so fun to see our kids start growing up and explore their talents! Several times during the day yesterday, he would turn to me and say, "Mom, that really was a great game wasn't it!?!?". He's such a sweetie!

What Emma's doing these days...
We can usually find her on the couch reading stories to her baby - combining her love of reading and of her babies!

First Cub Scout Flag Ceremony!
Zach was asked to help with the flag ceremony at school this morning...he was pretty excited (part of that may have been that he could wear his cub scout shirt to school) and looked pretty sharp!

Back to school...
We're a little later than everyone's else it seems, but today was the big day! Zach and Camilla both have great teachers and some old friends in their classes, so they are both excited!

Singing
Emma spend a good chunk of her day singing...unfortunately, she REFUSES to let me catch it on camera. This is the best I've gotten so far...
