I had the same due date with Zach and Emma, so it's no surprise that their birthdays are close! This was a big birthday for Zach...he's EIGHT YEARS OLD!!! There are definitely pros and cons of having a birthday party away from home, but I think he had a lot of fun! We started with breakfast in bed (the menu was stuffed chocolate-chip french toast, lots of bacon, ice cream and root beer) and had cousins over for splash ball and cake/ice cream that afternoon!

More fishing...
We had so much fun at the pond that we decided to go to a trout farm and fish with a "real" fishing pole! Everyone caught a fish and we had yummy trout for dinner (the kids think it tastes like chicken)! We also stopped by another cousins to visit their horses (and them, too, of course)!!!

Stopping in Salem
We all love my cousin, Debbie, and her family who live in Salem. Here's the proof! We biked to Salem pond, played in the water, fed the ducks, and even fished! The boys (and Camilla) found some sticks (some were more like twigs) and fishing line w/bait and a hook already on it, I could not believe it when Zach started shouting that he had actually caught a fish!!! Look at how small his stick was!!!

Emma's Birthday
So, our baby is TWO!!! We had a great time playing, jumping on the trampoline, enjoying cake and ice cream, opening presents, etc...Emma even got kisses from her cousin!

Hiking in Zions
Despite the heat, the hike was great with all the kids! Along the way we enjoyed chocolate chip granola bars (always a good idea on a hot day) and throwing rocks and sticks in the river. The best part (of course) was the end...eating lunch, catching tadpoles, and wading in the pools.

St. George

On Thursday afternoon, we loaded up the car and headed to St. George to meet Noall's family for the weekend. The most exciting thing for Alex (besides seeing his gma and gpa, and cousins, and aunts and uncles...) is that he FINALLY got the O.K. to go swimming!!!
