Gabe "eats" Alex's cookies while we wait...the surgery went better than could have hoped for! The surgeon fused Alex's newly discovered false ear drum, reconstructed his ear canal with bone chips from behind his ear, and removed cholesteatoma from two different places in his ear. Hopefully we are D-O-N-E having this surgery! The surgeon (Dr. Hansen) seems very optimistic. Next stop...restoring at least some his hearing (in 6 months)!

What a trooper...major surgery! I hope everything heals perfectly and his hearing improves significantly! Christmas music will never have sounded so great : )
